FTC Takes Action Against Credit Glory: What Consumers Should Know

Published August 10, 2026 · October 27, 2026 last updated

On August 10, 2026, the FTC announced that a federal court had temporarily halted a network of credit repair businesses connected to Credit Glory. The agency’s lawsuit alleges misleading promises, impersonation of creditors, illegal upfront fees and unauthorized recurring charges.

The FTC alleges the companies promoted claims that negative items could be removed and credit scores substantially improved. The complaint also alleges that, in some cases, the defendants disputed legitimate debts and filed false identity theft reports without consumers’ knowledge. These are allegations; the case is for the court to decide.

What this means for you: Be cautious of guarantees to fix your credit or erase accurate negative information. Review recurring charges and cancellation terms before enrolling. You can request your credit reports and dispute inaccurate information yourself.
